Global digital giants continue to work for Ukrainian economy.
Non-resident companies that provide electronic services to Ukrainian users paid more than 6.9 billion UAH to the state budget of the so-called “Google tax” in the first four months of 2026. This was informed by acting Head of the State Tax Service Lesya Karnaukh on the Facebook page.
In currency equivalent this is:
52 million Euros;
97.6 million US dollars.
“Revenues increased by 1.5 billion UAH compared to the same period last year. Among the largest payers: Apple, Google, Meta, Netflix, Sony, Valve, Etsy, Epic Games and Wargaming. We use services of these companies every day. We are talking about advertising, streaming platforms, online games, applications, marketplaces” – Lesya Karnaukh stated.
By the way, since the beginning of this year, 9 more non-resident companies have registered as the VAT payers in Ukraine.
In total, today there are already 154 international companies that officially pay “Google tax”.
“Equal rules for all market participants are something we are actively implementing. Regardless of whether it is a local company or a global corporation” – added acting Head of the State Tax Service.
According to current legislation, foreign company is required to register as the VAT payer in Ukraine if, over the past 12 months, volume of its electronic services for Ukrainian users exceeded equivalent of 1 000 000 UAH.
