Local budgets received 4.9 billion UAH of the tax on real estate other than land plot in the first four months of 2026. This is 14.5% more than in the same period last year.
Traditionally, the biggest contribution to budgets was made by property owners from megacities and industrial regions:
- Kyiv city – 1.05 billion UAH;
- Kyiv region – 547.3 million UAH;
- Dnipropetrovsk region – 490.0 million UAH;
- Lviv region – 487.0 million UAH.
Thanks to responsible attitude towards tax payment, local budgets receive stable financial resource to support social programs, community development and infrastructure restoration.
Tax on real estate other than land plot is accrued only on the area exceeding established preferential norms for:
- apartments – more than 60 square meters;
- residential buildings – more than 120 square meters;
- various types of owned housing – more than 180 square meters.
Tax rate is determined by local governments, but it cannot exceed 1.5% of the minimum salary for each "extra" square meter.
