In the first four months of 2026, local budgets received 112 million UAH of the tourist tax. This is 13.1% more than in the same period last year.
Regional leaders in the payment terms volumes:
- Lviv region and Kyiv city – 22.5 million UAH each;
- Ivano-Frankivsk region – 18.8 million UAH;
- Trans-Carpathian region – 10.3 million UAH.
Tourist tax revenues remain entirely at the disposal of local communities, allowing them to independently finance key development projects. Received resource is directed to modernization of infrastructure, arrangement of recreational areas, financing of information centers for travelers and restoration of historical monuments.
Tourist tax is not paid by:
- local residents of community or persons renting housing there for a long period;
- persons who arrived on a business trip (with an order or certificate);
- persons with disabilities, war veterans and participants in the liquidation of consequences of accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant;
- children under 18 years of age;
- persons who arrived on vouchers for treatment in sanatoriums;
- registered as internally displaced persons according to the Law of Ukraine "On ensuring rights and freedoms of internally displaced persons".
In today’s conditions, every UAH of paid tourist tax helps regions maintain economic stability, create new jobs in the service sector, and increase competitiveness of domestic tourism.
