Mass phishing mailing has been recorded using name of the State Tax Service. Intruders send emails with messages about alleged tax debt and a demand to urgently pay it via the specified link.
Such messages have no relation to the State Tax Service of Ukraine and are attempt at fraud.
The emails usually contain:
- notification about the "unpaid tax debt";
- call to urgently click on a link to "check details" or "pay the debt";
- use of logos or visual style similar to official symbols of the State Tax Service;
- fake sender addresses that imitate official domains.
Clicking on such links may result in the downloading malicious software or theft of confidential data.
Please note: the Tax Service does not send demands for payment of tax debt through third-party links in emails.
We urge citizens and business entities to be especially careful and adhere to basic rules of the cyber hygiene:
- do not open emails from unknown or suspicious senders;
- do not click on links in suspicious notifications;
- do not download attachments from such emails;
- check information exclusively through official State Tax Service’s resources;
- in case of doubt, contact official channels of the Service.
