In the first five months of 2026, global digital market giants paid more than 8.7 billion UAH to the state budget of the so-called “Google tax.” In currency equivalent, non-residents who provide electronic services to Ukrainians and are registered as the VAT payers transferred 80.4 million Euros and 105.4 million US dollars. This was informed by acting Head of the State Tax Service Lesya Karnaukh on the Facebook page.
Compared to the same period last year, revenues increased significantly:
+ 6.4 million Euros;
+ 21.1 million US dollars.
“The largest payers: Google, Apple, Valve, Meta, Sony, Etsy and Netflix. Number of registered payers also continues to increase. 12 more non-resident companies that provide electronic services to individuals have become the VAT payers in Ukraine since the beginning of 2026” – she stated.
In total, 154 such payers have already been registered in Ukraine today.
“Revenues growth from taxation of electronic services indicates development of the digital economy and growth of the volume of consumption of digital services by Ukrainians. This is important resource for the state budget, which is formed due to the fair taxation of global online platforms that operate in Ukraine” – Lesya Karnaukh added.
Legislation stipulates that foreign companies must register as the VAT payers in Ukraine if, over the past 12 months, volume of electronic services provided by them to Ukrainian consumers exceeded the equivalent of 1 million UAH.
