Domestic tourism industry demonstrated positive dynamics during January – May 2026. During this period, local budgets received 161.8 million UAH of the tourist tax. This is 22.6% more than in the same period last year, when budgets received 132 million UAH.

Leaders in terms of payment volumes:

- Kyiv city – 34.7 million UAH;

- Lviv region – 32.2 million UAH;

- Ivano-Frankivsk region – 27.8 million UAH,

- Trans-carpathian region – 14.7 million UAH.

Tourist tax becomes a reliable financial resource for development of communities.

Local authorities direct received funds to:

- renovation of the tourist locations and infrastructure;

- improvement of streets, parks and recreation areas;

- improvement of the quality of service for travelers;

- financing of cultural and festive events.

Reminder! Tax rates are set by local councils for each day of temporary residence, for one person:

- up to 0.5% of the minimum salary – for citizens of Ukraine;

- up to 5% – for foreigners and stateless persons.
