Owners of expensive cars paid 214.2 million UAH of the transport tax to local budgets in 7 months.

It was paid by 11.5 thousand car owners.

This is almost 80 million UAH more than in the same period last year. Growth is almost 60%.

The biggest transport tax revenues were provided by payers of:

Kyiv – 60.4 million UAH;

Dnipropetrovsk region – 18.8 million UAH;

Kyiv region – 16.2 million UAH;

Lviv region – 16.2 million UAH.

Transport tax is paid by owners of passenger cars that meet two main criteria. In particular, not more than five years have passed since their year of manufacture, and their average market cost exceeds 375 minimum salaries established on January 1 of relevant year.

Average market cost of cars is determined by the Ministry of Economy using methodology approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. This takes into account brand and model of the car, year of manufacture, engine cylinder capacity and fuel type.

Every year, by February 1, the Ministry of Economy posts on its website (www.me.gov.ua) the list of vehicles that are subject to the transport tax. This year’s list includes 1 281 passenger car models.
