The only state web portal
State Tax Service, together with international partners, is working on new effective measures to improve cybersecurity. Acting Head of the State Tax Service Lesya Karnaukh and Chief Executive Officer of the Estonian Centre for International Development ESTDEV Andrea Kivi signed a Memorandum of cooperation.
Cooperation entails:
- modernization of the State Tax Service’s cyber infrastructure;
- implementation of a privileged access management system (PAM) for critical information systems and resources.
“In fact, single protected loop of access control to the most important information systems of the State Tax Service is being created. We will strengthen control over who, when and to what resources has access. And we will promptly respond to potential internal threats” – said Lesya Karnaukh.
Cooperation is not limited to the purchase and deployment of software. Specialists of the State Tax Service and ESTDEV will work together on technical solutions, conduct testing and validation of the implemented system, as well as train administrators and users. In fact, new protection system is being implementing.
Another important direction is modernization of the State Tax Service’s server and network infrastructure, as well as the implementation of platforms for monitoring, analytics and network management. This should make IT systems more reliable, speed up data processing and decision-making.
“Such partnership is of strategic importance for us, as it concerns critically important area – cybersecurity and cyber resilience. In the full-scale war conditions, when state institutions are under constant cyberattacks, reliable protection of information systems and data is absolute priority for the State Tax Service” – emphasized acting Head of the State Tax Service.
Active cooperation between the State Tax Service of Ukraine and ESTDEV continues within the project framework “Support for Digitalization of Tax Administration of the State Tax Service of Ukraine” within framework of the Tallinn Mechanism. The project is particularly aimed at increasing voluntary compliance with tax legislation and developing capacity to combat tax fraud. Important cooperation component is also supporting process of Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.
