The State tax service of Ukraine will apply the best world practices for digitization of services and administration processes. This was stated by Chairman of the STS Serhii Verlanov during the appearance at an international conference “Tax transparency and era of digitization: Ukrainian view at global tax challenges”.

According to him, transparency is the reality of today. Many of the processes that used to be an analogue and paper-based in the Tax service, starting with submission of reports and consultation advice have already transformed into electronic form.

“As of today, the E-cabinet is already a routine through the private part of which 2 million users communicate and receive services from the Tax service. The most active users, including individuals, individuals-entrepreneurs and legal entities use electronic services and do not attend Tax service” – stated Serhii Verlanov.

In general, 5 million taxpayers use the E-cabinet monthly. That is why it is very important to improve existing services for the tax service constantly and introduce new ones that will meet the needs and requirements of the taxpayers.

“Introduced “Fiscal check search service” in the E-cabinet gave an access to the fiscal check database to every citizen and aroused considerable interest in the society. In fact, it has become one of the significant steps that has contributed to the introduction of changes in legislation regarding the use of registrars of calculated operations and use of software RCO. It will certainly increase transparency in the sphere of cash payments, create an even competitive environment” - noticed Serhii Verlanov.

Chairman of the STS also reminded that introduction of automated VAT administration a few years ago helped to improve quality of the tax administration. This system allows online monitoring of the VAT circulation and administration across the country, actively counteracting the tax minimization schemes. The new system also contributes to the increase of the VAT revenues and provides the automatic reimbursement.

Currently, there are a lot of discussions about introducing digital tax services. According to Serhii Verlanov, the STS actively cooperates with Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development on these issues, examining the economic feasibility, both positive and negative aspects of such implementation.
