Taxpayers paid 54.3 billion UAH of the personal income tax in the first half of 2020. This figure was 51.2 billion UAH in 2019. That is, comparing to 2019, this year’s figure is by 3 billion UAH more. This was stated by the Chairman of the State Tax Service of Ukraine Oleksiy Lyubchenko in an interview with “Censor.Net”.

According to him, the growth occurred despite the quarantine restrictions due to the coronavirus disease.

“Work with the taxpayers is ongoing. People understand that there is no place to get cash to pay salaries “in the envelopes”. It is necessary to accrue salary and there is no easy access to cash. It is necessary to accrue officially” – stated Oleksiy Lyubchenko.

Chairman of the STS also reported that the implementation of the personal income tax plan in June was 106% and the single social contribution to compulsory state social insurance amounted 117.5%.

“Ukrainians are responsible and pay taxes despite the quarantine” – emphasized Oleksiy Lyubchenko.

According to him, the revenues growth is also fixed from the value added tax. Country received 4.6 billion UAH of the VAT to the budget in 2019; meanwhile in 2020 this figure is 8.5 billion UAH. Over fulfillment is 4 billion UAH, ie almost 1.9 times.

Oleksiy Lyubchenko stated that the Tax service already has understanding of the budgetary revenues indicators for July and therefore the work on fulfilling tasks of August is already underway.
