Only 11.6 million people receive salaries in Ukraine – Oleksiy Lyubchenko

As of today, only 11.6 million people receive salaries in Ukraine, of which 2.1 million are pensioners. That is 9.5 million people who support the whole country. This was stated by Chairman of the STS Oleksiy Lyubchenko in an interview with “Novoe Vremya”.

Chairman of the STS stated that there are 44.1 million people registered in the State Register of Individuals, of which 37.6 million are citizens who are in the controlled territory of Ukraine. Income, according to statistics 2019, was received by 19.7 million citizens, ie 45%.

“We have economically active population about 34.6 million (which is 15 – 70 y.o.) according to the UN classification. Of this category, the Tax service does not see 5.6 million people over the past ten years on map of Ukraine” – emphasized Oleksiy Lyubchenko.

According to Chairman of the STS, this problem can be resolved by linking declaration to the mechanism of suffrage and the budget process.

“Why do those who have not paid taxes for ten years shape our policy? An individual comes and votes – I object. This is my civic position. Do you want to use social standards? Pay taxes and use. Why 11.6 million people work and pay taxes, another 1.8 million have taken an active position and become entrepreneurs and millions of people have not even thought about work, not mentioning taxes?” – emphasized Oleksiy Lyubchenko.
