Implementation status of the technical cooperation project “Ukraine – Sweden “Partnership for modern and efficient tax service (METS)” and issues of tax reform were discussed today during a meeting held by Chairman of the STS Oleksiy Lyubchenko with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to Ukraine Tobias Thyberg and Long-term expert of the METS project Arne Jacobsen.
Chairman of the STS Oleksiy Lyubchenko noted that the STS pays great attention to cooperation with international partners, as their experience and innovations allow to introduce the best practices in Ukrainian tax system.
“I am very impressed by the philosophy of Swedish Tax Agency which in a few years has gone from a strict regulatory body to a popular service agency with high public confidence. We in Ukraine share these values, they are reflected in our new mission and strategic goals” – outlined Chairman of the STS.
“The most valuable thing for us is human resources. Without professional specialists, it is impossible to carry out any reforms, accomplish tasks and implement all planned changes. Given that one of components of the METS project is human resource management, we will be able to qualitatively integrate the progressive developments of Swedish colleagues into our system.” – emphasized Oleksiy Lyubchenko.
In turn, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to Ukraine Tobias Thyberg noted interest of Ukrainian tax authorities in implementing the changes. He also assured of his readiness to provide support and assistance to Ukrainian side for the successful implementation of reforms.
Participants of the meeting visited museum of the STS, got acquainted with the exposition which illustrates the milestones of creation and history of the Service.
