Oleksiy Lyubchenko held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to Ukraine Alex Lenaerts

Today, Chairman of the STS Oleksiy Lyubchenko and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to Ukraine Alex Lenaerts discussed activities of Belgian companies in Ukraine and measures of the State Tax Service of Ukraine to improve business conditions.

Oleksiy Lyubchenko specifically stated that the STS within its competence makes every effort to ensure favorable conditions for business activities. Thus, the improvement of tax administration and the change of ideology in working with taxpayers allowed ensuring full budget revenues. Moreover, honesty of business entities helped the STS not only to make up for the lag made during January – April totaling 11.7 billion UAH but also to exceed the expected indicators of revenues by 35.9 billion UAH for 10 months of 2020.

“Today we have a lot of challenges. We are reforming within a single legal entity. My main task is not to carry out a formal reform, but to create a strong and efficient structure, open to the taxpayers and ready to respond to all challenges. A transparent, modern and technological service that both taxpayers and tax authorities would be proud of” – stated Chairman of the STS.

An important component of a successful tax system is the maximum meeting of business needs through the provision of electronic services. Digitization is a priority, because possibility of remote communication with tax specialists and ability to obtain necessary information through tax services is not only a requirement of today, but also one of the prerequisites for reducing corruption in society.

In turn, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to Ukraine Alex Lenaerts noted openness of Ukrainian tax specialists to cooperation and readiness to promptly resolve disputes with the business, as well as the importance of compliance with tax laws by all business entities.

Participants of the meeting also got acquainted with exposition of the STS’s Museum, which illustrates all its stages of formation and development. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to Ukraine Alex Lenaerts personally left a review of impressions from meeting and tour in the book of honorary visitors of the Museum.
