Scientific Advisory Board of the STS started its work

Chairman of the State Tax Service of Ukraine Oleksiy Lyubchenko took part in a constituent meeting of Scientific Advisory Board of the STS.

“Coherence in development and implementation of the European-style tax culture on the basis of partnership between the state and business, ie improving functionality of tax system, is relevant for the STS.” – stated Oleksiy Lyubchenko.  

According to him, decision to create Scientific Advisory Board of the STS was made in order to promote effectiveness of scientific and technical policy in the tax sphere, to expand prospects for development of the STS. Leading scientists and highly qualified specialists are involved in improving the work of this body.

Scientific Advisory Board will have the status of advisory body to the STS on the provision of scientific advice in tax sphere.

“It is not possible to develop the institutional capacity of the STS without involving and using scientific potential. Quintessence of such potential will be, we hope, the newly created Scientific Advisory Board” – emphasized Oleksiy Lyubchenko.

Participants of meeting had a broad discussion on the importance of involving experts and scholars in the tax reform areas, specifically the introduction of useful research in the work of tax authorities. Such cooperation is provided by regulations on the Scientific Advisory Board.

In particular, one of the main tasks of this advisory body is to provide scientific suggestions and consultations aimed at implementing state programs and decisions in the tax sphere, namely:

- consideration of conceptual tasks;

- analysis and solution of the most important scientific and technical problems and research;

- providing suggestions for regulations, discussing projects of the most important of them;

  - development of recommendations and suggestions on activities of the STS.

Composition of Scientific Advisory Board of the STS and the Regulations on the Scientific Advisory Board of the STS were approved during the meeting.
