Illegal sale of tobacco products was exposed in Kyiv

Employees of the Unit for control of settlement operations of the STS in Kyiv city collected information regarding the illegal sale of tobacco products during the implementation of control measures within the limits of granted powers.

Group of individuals who purchased and stored counterfeit tobacco products for sale was identified in the course of joint activities with employees of Main Directorate of the SFS in Kyiv city.

Data on the commission of a criminal violation under Part 2 Part 3 Article 204 of the Criminal code of Ukraine was entered in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations.

In addition, place for storage and sale of the counterfeit tobacco products was exposed in one of the well-known markets in Kyiv city.

Searches were carried out with participation of employees of Operational units of Main Directorate of the SFS in Kyiv city and in the presence (as experts) of employees of the Unit for control of settlement operations of Main Directorate of the STS in Kyiv city. Tobacco products without excise stamps in the amount of 22 684 packs with an estimated cost of 0.7 million UAH, as well as cash totaling 250 thousand US dollars were seized.
