Illegal sale of alcoholic beverages which is allowed only in duty-free stores has been stopped at the initiative of tax authorities

State Tax Service constantly monitors information from external sources, including information posted on the Internet, social networks Telegram, Facebook, Instagram, etc.

Illegal sale of alcoholic beverages which is allowed only in duty-free stores was carried out on the territory of one shopping center in Kyiv city according to information from open sources which was spread in media at the end of last week.

On 06.09.2021, the State Tax Service, in order to eliminate illicit turnover of alcoholic products, coordinated joint actions of officials of Main Directorate of the STS in Kyiv city and the National Police of Ukraine in Kyiv city at preventing violations committing by one business entity, that under the guise of duty-free store “DUTY FREE”, carried out a large-scale sale of alcohol of well-known foreign brands in the Shopping Center “Arcadia” (location – Shuliavska metro station).

According to available STS’s databases, the specified business entity registered three software registrars of settlement operations at the specified economic object, through which settlement only for 2 thousand UAH have been performed since their registration over August – September 2021.

STS, basing on existing risks, immediately organized actual audit during which the sale of alcoholic products without excise tax stamps and without use of registrars of settlement operations was established. In addition, the payer was unable to confirm origin of alcoholic beverages.

Unlabeled alcohol products was confiscated (namely about one hundred units of elite alcohol) at the initiative of Main Directorate of the STS in Kyiv city and officers of the National Police of Kyiv city.

Work in this direction continues on the ongoing basis.
