State Tax Service of Ukraine is interested in continuing active cooperation with the State Tax Inspectorate under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania. This was stated by acting Chairman of the State Tax Service Tetiana Kirienko during a meeting with Head of the State Tax Inspectorate under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania Edita Janusiene with participation of representatives of project “Support to Public Financial Management in Ukraine” (EU4PFM).

“We are grateful to our Lithuanian colleagues for support provided during this difficult time for our country. State Tax Service continues to work actively, because in the wartime we cannot afford to stop. Despite all the events, we have resumed work of the State Tax Service from the first days and continue to actively move towards goals set us by the Government and society.” – stated Tetiana Kirienko.

According to her, the State Tax Service appreciates support of international partners, their experience and willingness to cooperate. Ukraine expects to receive the status of a candidate for membership in the European Union in the near future. This, in turn, will require swift steps to bring Ukraine’s legislation in line with the EU legislation, as well as political, social, economic, judicial and administrative reforms.

“Republic of Lithuania, as a country that has taken such path, has extensive experience in bringing Lithuanian national tax legislation in line with the EU legislation and therefore we will find interesting and useful experience of our Lithuanian colleagues.” – emphasized Tetiana Kirienko.

In turn, Edita Janusiene assured of her readiness to cooperate with the Tax Service of Ukraine and provide advisory support regarding tax issues.

In this way parties agreed on the possibility of holding training seminars with participation of representatives of the State Tax Inspectorate and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania for the exchange of information and experience.
