Positive dynamics of the excise tax revenues to general fund of the state budget continues to be maintained.

General fund of the State budget of Ukraine received excise tax from excisable goods (products) produced in Ukraine and imported to the customs territory of Ukraine in the amount of more than 6.9 billion UAH in February 2023. This is 115.5% from the targeted income indicator (6 billion UAH). Budget additionally received 928.9 million UAH, including from liquor and vodka products in the amount of 374.4 million UAH and tobacco products – 380.8 million UAH.

Comparing to last year, payment of the excise tax to the general fund has increased by 1.3 billion UAH or 23.6%, including due to additional revenues from imported tobacco products (0.8 billion UAH).

This became possible, in particular, as a result of increase in the excise tax rates and impact of the anti-forstopping restrictions on sales volumes of the excise tax marks and sales volumes of tobacco products, which were introduced and operated in October – December 2022 and contributed to preventing a significant increase in sales/import volumes on the eve of increase in the excise tax rates.

Revenues of the excise tax on sale of alcoholic beverages by business entities, as well as sales by manufacturers and/or importers, including in the retail sale of tobacco products, tobacco and industrial tobacco substitutes, liquids used in electronic cigarettes, amounted to 952.4 million UAH in February 2023, which is 2.1 times more than in February 2022 (443.3 million UAH).
