Representatives of the State Tax Service and Office of Technical Assistance of the US Treasury Department outlined priorities for cooperation in the near future

Digitization of tax services of the State Tax Service and measures on the improvement of compliance with tax legislation by the taxpayers – this became the topic of meeting between representatives of the State Tax Service and Office of Technical Assistance of the US Treasury Department.

According to acting Deputy Head of the State Tax Service of Ukraine Yevhenii Sokur, cooperation with international partners in implementation direction of the compliance strategy is currently relevant and important for the State Tax Service. After all, successful implementation of all aspects of compliance will help to minimize risks of taxpayers violating requirements of tax legislation, increase level of tax discipline and help the taxpayers to avoid the most common mistakes in the future, simplify reporting and tax payment as much as possible.

“We highly appreciate help of our colleagues and willingness to share successful experiences, in particular, regarding the tax compliance management strategy. We are also ready to present our achievements in this sphere and receive expert recommendations that will help to implement the best global practices in taxation.” – stated Yevhenii Sokur.

Specialists of the State Tax Service presented its strategic directions in working with tax compliance. Among the near-term plans are introduction of the E-audit and E-excise, automation of work with Big Data/transfer pricing risk analysis, improvement of culture of voluntary declaration by taxpayers, implementation of the CRS and automatic exchange of reports (CbC), creation of interactive educational base for taxpayers and tax officials, as well as modernization of the Contact Center of the State Tax Service.

In turn, American experts confirmed their readiness for further advisory assistance to the State Tax Service, in particular, regarding work in the risk management area in compliance. Parties have reached agreement to hold joint meeting on this topic in the near future.
