We are reaching new level of Ukrainian-Polish cooperation

Representatives of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine and the State Tax Service at invitation of the Ministry of Finance of Poland in Warsaw started work with their Polish colleagues. During this week, the EU law, its sources and their application, legal institutions and legislative process in Europe, Poland's experience and challenges in adapting national legislation to the EU law, tax policy and tax administration of the EU member states in the indirect and direct taxes will be considered.

This is the first visit within the framework of new two-year project "Tax solidarity program for Ukraine - tax path to the EU", initiated by the Ministry of Finance of Poland specifically for Ukraine and aimed at supporting our country's efforts in creating fair and efficient tax system and acquiring membership of the European Union. Purpose of the program is to increase Ukraine's ability to adapt national legislation to the EU legislation, as well as to counter threats, in particular, such as tax evasion and harmful tax competition in the European Union.

Launch of this project is extremely important and relevant step in view of current active work in terms of fulfillment of political and economic criteria for joining the EU and assessment of state of implementation of the European Union acquis, which is currently being conducted by ministries and central executive bodies under the leadership Government Office of the Coordination of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
