Regarding the value added tax refunding

Increase in the VAT refunding amounted to 56% in 2023 (132.4 billion UAH) compared to 2022 (84.6 billion UAH). It was possible to ensure the increase even under condition of increasing amount of the VAT refunding declared to the budget by 11% (117.6 billion UAH) compared to 2022 (106.0 billion UAH).

Also, amount of budgetary VAT refunding increased by 14.1 billion UAH in 2023, which was worked out basing on results of audits carried out by the controlling body solely on the basis of data specified in tax declarations, without conducting any other types of audits of the taxpayer: 65% (75 billion UAH) in 2023 against 61% (60.9 billion UAH) in 2022.

At the same time, balance of the VAT amounts, which was in operation as of January 1, 2024 decreased by 18.8 billion UAH (or 53%) compared to the balance as of January 1, 2023.

Summary information on the VAT refunding is generated on the 1st of each month with a cumulative total from the beginning of reporting period and is published monthly on web portal of the State Tax Service.
