Warning: fake e-mails are being sent on behalf of the State Tax Service

In recent days, a mass mailing of e-mails has been recorded, allegedly on behalf of territorial departments of the State Tax Service of Ukraine, requesting the need to contact its representative.

Message has the following content: “Good afternoon. [Surname, first name, patronymic of the management representative of territorial body of the State Tax Service of Ukraine] is concerned. Please tell [Name, patronymic of the taxpayer’s head] to contact me urgently. Telephone number: +380932652751”.

Be aware that the State Tax Service does not indicate personal telephone numbers for communication in correspondence.

Fake messages are sent by spoofing email address of the State Tax Service of Ukraine. They look like official letters and mislead the recipient. In this way, attackers easily gain trust.

Reminder: all information for taxpayers is published on pages of web portal of the State Tax Service of Ukraine (https://tax.gov.ua).

Using the e-mail:

observe personal cyber hygiene;

Be careful and attentive opening attachments, even if they come from known recipients;

Do not open received attachments without first confirming the fact of sending such letter by its sender.
