Investment protection and open dialogue with the taxpayers with foreign capital were topics of the meeting of acting Head of the State Tax Service Lesya Karnaukh with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Ukraine Seymur Mardaliev and the General Director of SOCAR Energy Ukraine Elchin Mamiedov.

“Azerbaijan not only actively supports Ukraine, but also makes a significant contribution to the state’s economy. More than 1 900 enterprises are registered in Ukraine, in the authorized capital of which there is a share of Azerbaijani investors. Such companies paid 143.9 million UAH of taxes in the first half of 2025” – noted Lesya Karnaukh.

In turn, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Ukraine Seymur Mardaliev informed about the new company, which will soon start operating in Zhytomyr and outlined plans for development of other Azerbaijani business in Ukraine.

“Azerbaijani business takes into account challenges, but sees opportunities and prospects in Ukraine. We are grateful for the faith of Azerbaijani business in our country and are ready for high-quality communication from the State Tax Service. After all, in order to fill Ukrainian budget, we must build partnership and trust with business” – emphasized acting Head of the State Tax Service.

According to her, the State Tax Service is also open to deepening bilateral tax cooperation between our countries – both in the information exchange sphere and in adaptation of the best administrative practices.

Lesya Karnaukh also expressed her gratitude to the Azerbaijani people and business for their assistance in reconstruction, humanitarian and social projects.

“We extremely appreciate principled position that our friends consistently demonstrate, supporting sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine” – said acting Head of the State Tax Service.
