Geography of providing sign language interpretation services is expanding: barrier-free service is now available in the Taxpayer Service Centers of Rivne region

Sign language interpretation service for citizens with hearing impairments has become available at Taxpayer Service Centers in Rivne region.  

This was made possible due to cooperation of regional tax authorities with the Ukrainian Society of Deaf (UTOG) and implementation of modern technological solutions.

How it works in Rivne region.

To use the service, it is enough to inform employee of the Taxpayer Service Center about the need for translation. QR codes are placed near the service windows – scanning them opens a video connection with a professional sign language interpreter. Interpreter helps in communicating with tax specialists, ensuring high-quality communication in the real time.

In addition to the language inclusion, centers also have other elements of physical accessibility:

ramps, staff call buttons for people with limited mobility;

contrast marking of stairs for people with visual impairments.

Reminder! Sign language interpretation service is also already operating in Kyiv and Volyn.

Measures are being implemented within framework of the National Strategy for creating a barrier-free space, initiated by the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska.
