State Tax Service of Ukraine, together with the International charitable organization "East Europe Foundation", start new stage of digital transformation of the State Tax Service. The key element of this will be modernization of the taxpayer’s Electronic cabinet.
Memorandum of cooperation was signed by acting Head of the State Tax Service of Ukraine Lesya Karnaukh and President of the East Europe Foundation Victor Liakh. Project will be implemented within framework of the Swiss-Ukrainian Program EGAP.
“Modern digital tax system. This is what I strive for as acting Head of the State Tax Service, as well as the entire tax team. This is certainly a request from society. Together with the Fund, we will work to make digital tax services even simpler, clearer and more transparent” – Lesya Karnaukh stated.
“We at the East Europe Foundation, together with our partners from Switzerland, are ready to support changes in work of the Tax Service, in particular modernization of the taxpayer’s Electronic cabinet. It is important for the Fund that interaction with the government services is simple and understandable for citizens and business. Together with the State Tax Service, we are ready to work on simplifying administrative procedures, primarily for individuals-entrepreneurs, who today are the basis of small business and significantly contribute to the budget. We are grateful to the State Tax Service for its openness to changes, donor coordination and willingness to move forward in digitalization” – said President of the East Europe Foundation Victor Liakh.
The first stage is a comprehensive audit of how tax administration functions today. Assessment will be conducted using two international methodologies – TADAT and DTMM. We will clearly know where there is progress and where changes are needed. And it is important that everything meets international standards.
Next, a detailed plan for digital transformation of the State Tax Service will be formed. Where interests of the taxpayer come first. So that interaction with the Tax Service is as convenient as possible, without wasting time.
“Important component of changes is modernization of the payer’s Electronic cabinet. Tens of thousands of payers use it every day. Therefore, everything should be convenient and fast! We will update the navigation, logic and user scenarios of the Cabinet. In essence, we will create new simple and accessible model of interaction between the taxpayers and the State Tax Service’s electronic services” – Lesya Karnaukh said.
External experts will work on the transformation together with specialists of the State Tax Service.
Acting Head of the State Tax Service thanked team of the East Europe Foundation for promptly responding to the request for implementation of this project. This is, first of all, about the needs of each taxpayer.
“Especially now, in the war times, we must do everything to ensure that payers receive new service standards” – Lesya Karnaukh added.
