State Tax Service, with support of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, has launched new service – tax support for veteran entrepreneurship. New service for defenders was presented today in Kyiv at the Tax Consultant Office by acting Head of the State Tax Service Lesya Karnaukh and Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine Natalia Kalmykova.
According to the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, there are 1.8 million veterans in Ukraine today. Supporting veteran business is a crucial task for the state. Therefore, when tax questions become almost a “task with an asterisk” for many of them, the State Tax Service’s services must be convenient and adaptable.
“To be there, help, give advice. This was our main motivation at the State Tax Service when idea of the new service was born – tax support for veteran entrepreneurship. In fact, this is personal support for veterans at all stages of doing business. In the near future, it will be available in all Offices in 20 regions” – Lesya Karnaukh said.
Support will be systematic:
assistance in choosing taxation system at the start;
support in obtaining grants;
explanation of each step – without complex language and bureaucracy;
support already in the process of business operation, and not only at the opening stage.
For our defenders, we are improving elements of priority service: registration without queues; separate line in the Contact Center; separate block in the chat bot; priority offline servicing.
Today, more than 150 veterans work in the State Tax Service’s system. But the State Tax Service does not stop there – we involve veterans in working as moderators so that they become a kind of trust point for our defenders.
Veteran Iryna Ihnatova already works at the capital’s Tax Consultant Office. After completing her service and undergoing treatment, she applied to the Employment Center. And the State Tax Service became interested in her candidacy within framework of the new veteran support project.
Initiative realization is also being implemented in cooperation with the veterans’ funds, specialized communities and Kyiv School of Public Administration named after Serhiy Nyzhnyy.
During presentation, one of the veterans spoke about importance of such initiatives. Vidadi Israfilov, who was a volunteer in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, is now developing construction business with his family. At one time, he received a grant and, thanks to the development of his business, has already paid considerable amount of taxes. According to him, 80% of his employees are our veterans. And therefore, it is extremely important to help those, who returned from the front, integrate into civilian life through joint efforts. To teach not only how to open their own business, but also how to pay taxes. These are actually the funds for defense and social expenses.
“That’s why we are already working on popularizing our new service. Tax Service should be a tool of support, not a barrier for our defenders” – Lesya Karnaukh emphasized.
