Land payment is a compulsory payment in the form of property tax, which is paid in the form of the land tax and rent for land of state and communal property.
In 2019 the vast majority of this tax revenue was transferred by the legal entities - land owners and land users who transferred 970 million UAH of the land tax and rent. Instead, individuals transferred 174 million UAH of the tax for lands of Donetsk region.
Overall, landowners and tenants of Donetsk region have additional transferred nearly 240 million UAH to the local communities in 2019. As a whole, amount of tax paid last year exceeded 1.1 billion UAH.
Effective co-operation with local self-governments regarding the proper control over the use of available land, joint worked aimed at exposing cases of “shadow” rent and, thus, increasing budget revenues through the legalization of land relations has become a major driver of the land tax revenue growth.
