Main Directorate of the STS in Chernivtsi region reported that taxpayers paid 71.2 million UAH of the military levy to budget during January – April 2020, which is 5.8 million UAH more than during the same period in 2019. The state budget received more than 15.5 million UAH for the needs of the army in April 2020.
Analyzing the status of military levy revenues, acting Head of Main Directorate of the STS in Chernivtsi region Borys Akimenko draws attention to the fact that military levy is paid from legally paid income of Bukovyn residents, so that ensuring the adequacy of its payment during quarantine is quite difficult. Herewith, a systematic approach to the work of tax specialists which includes analytical work, explanatory meetings (discussions), both online and in person with the taxpayers who have arrears of wages or minimize it, inspires optimism to ensure the growth of “wage” taxes.
Main Directorate of the STS in Chernivtsi region is convinced that business will start operating more efficiently in the near future and all employees will be officially employed, not “hired”.
In total, residents of Bukovyn have paid 855.8 million UAH for reformation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine since the introduction of the military levy (since August 3, 2014). In 2014 – 29.6 million UAH; in 2015 – 88.3 million UAH; in 2016 – 106.2 million UAH; in 2017 – 148.6 million UAH; in 2018 –189.2 million UAH; in 2019 – 222.7 million UAH; in January-April 2020 – 71.2 million UAH.
