Main Directorate of the STS in Rivne region reported that 12 million 482 thousand UAH of the personal income tax was transferred to the budget from interest accrued by banks on deposits of Rivne region residents during 6 months of 2020.
As follows, contribution of bank depositors to the budget in the form of paid personal income tax has exceeded the last year’s figures by 626 thousand UAH.
Tax specialists draw attention of citizens who have deposits in banks that the law does not oblige them to submit any reporting documents on income received in the form of accrual of deposit interest to the tax inspections.
According to Sub-paragraph 170.4.1 Paragraph 170.4 Article 170 of the Tax Code, the taxpayer’s tax agent during the accrual of income in his favor in the form of interest is the person who makes such accrual.
