Half of taxes paid in Volyn region are from the taxation of legal citizens’ income

According to January – November 2020, amount of 4 billion 64 million UAH of personal income tax and 301 million UAH of military levy were paid to budgets of all levels from the official legal income of Volyn residents.

This is more than 51.5% of the total amount of tax payments paid to budgets of all levels during January – November 2020.

“This fact clearly demonstrates how important official employment and honest income declaration are for budget’s stability. Given that the personal income tax is a budget-forming for local communities and paid military levy is a significant financial resource to support the national army, discussions about possible shadow employment during the difficult period of the corona crisis are unacceptable.” – emphasized Head Main Directorate of the STS in Volyn region Svitlana Savchuk.

According to analyst, currently the PIT revenues are 6.1% higher than in 2019. And the military levy was paid by 7.9% more than during the corresponding period in 2019. Meanwhile, 3 billion 30 million UAH of personal income tax paid was transferred to local budgets from Volyn residents.

 “That is, communities can be financially successful only if all jobs are fully legalized. At this point, local self-government leaders should be the first to pay attention to convincing businesses that use the resources of territory of the importance of proper work registration for all employees without exception.” – specified Svitlana Savchuk.

Main Directorate of the STS in Volyn region draws citizens’ attention to the fact that only legal employment guarantees social benefits in the case of disability or dismissal.
