Parents whose children are abroad can register a taxpayer registration card number for their child without coming to Ukraine. Procedure is even available remotely.

To register a child in the State register, it is necessary to submit registration card in the № 1DR form (https://tax.gov.ua/zakonodavstvo/podatkove-zakonodavstvo/nakazi/72593.html). It is also application for registration in the State register of individuals – taxpayers.

It is possible to submit it:

- in person (if one of the parents or legal representatives is in Ukraine);

- register through a representative with a power of attorney certified according to procedure established by the law;

- online through the Electronic cabinet or the Diia portal;

- by mail.

Registration card is submitted by one of the parents or legal representative. To do this, the following is needed:

- child’s birth certificate;

- document proving identity of one of the parents;

- confirmation of the place of residence.

 At the same time:

- signature on the application must be certified according to procedure established by the law;

- if document certifying the person (or the child, or one of the parents) is issued in a foreign language – their translation into Ukrainian, certified according to the established by the law, is required;

- if parents or one of the parents of the child at the date of his/her birth were foreigners or stateless persons, registration certificate of the person as a citizen of Ukraine has to be submitted to confirm the fact of such person’s belonging to the citizenship of Ukraine.

Finished document:

- may be sent abroad (at location of the person abroad or at written request of the person to the specified address abroad);

- sent to a foreign diplomatic mission of Ukraine;

- issue to a representative by power of attorney.

Registration number of the taxpayer’s account card is required for:

- processing documents in Ukraine,

- opening accounts,

- receiving services and social benefits.

So even while abroad, taking care of registration for the child is simple and affordable.
