Taxpayers increasingly prefer to use electronic services of the State Tax Service. This was stated by Chairman of the STS Oleksiy Lyubchenko during a joint briefing with Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.

“Taxpayer Service Centers provided 4.2 million administrative services during January – September 2019. In 2020 this figure during the corresponding period is 3.7 million. That is, we see that taxpayers are beginning to prefer electronic communication with tax specialists” – outlined Oleksiy Lyubchenko.

As of today, the total number of taxpayers registered in Ukraine is 3 million 434 thousand. Despite all the difficulties that Ukraine is experiencing due to the COVID – 19, the number of taxpayers has increased by 60 thousand in 2020.

“Introduced system of electronic VAT administration was the first and main component of the E-STS. According to increased efficiency of the VAT administration, currently business entities have experienced a decrease in competition from the shadows. Accordingly, the payment of taxes has increased. On the background of falling GDP, it is the third month in a row with the VAT growth sales – that is income of the real business sector is increasing” – emphasized Oleksiy Lyubchenko.

In turn, the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov emphasized that digitalization contributes to reduction of the state’s presence in people’s lives, which is especially important during the coronavirus pandemic. Therefore, there is an active work on the maximum transition of services into electronic format.

“It is very important for us to digitize services for business. And the Tax service, which essentially administers all these processes, is currently at the forefront of digitization. Jointly with the Tax service, we were able to launch online services for individuals – entrepreneurs and limited liability companies. At present in Ukraine, the fastest business registration is available in 15 minutes; subsequently the one can register as a private individual – entrepreneur on the portal “Diya” without leaving home. More than 50 thousand private individuals – entrepreneurs in 2020 have already been registered online” – stated the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.
