STS: audits reveal unofficial work of most sellers of excisable products via the Internet
Territorial divisions of the Tax audit organized a number of measures to clean the retail market from illegal sale of excisable products via the Internet in order to prevent possible legislative violations.
77 purchases of alcohol beverages were made through available Internet sites in the 4th quarter of 2020. Orders were for the following products: vodka, cognac, ethyl alcohol, etc.
According to the order results, it was revealed that the vast majority of cases of sale of excisable products are carried out by individuals without proper state registration. 51 individuals – senders were identified, who sold alcohol beverages in Ukraine.
In some cases, senders of alcohol beverages to avoid liability indicate title of products not related to excisable group: soft drinks, car care products, etc. in the accompanying documents.
Audit materials were sent to territorial divisions in order to take appropriate measures according to current legislation, particularly to bring individuals to administrative responsibility, to establish real selling circumstances of alcohol via the Internet and possibility of initiating blocking of Internet pages, within the existing proceedings.
SFS initiated a number of criminal proceedings on the illegal sale of alcohol beverages regarding revealed facts.
For example, the Actual audit units of Main Directorate of the STS in Luhansk region made an order for the purchase of alcohol beverages via one Internet site that were further obtained through the network “Nova Poshta”. Information about the parcel indicated car cosmetics and clothes instead of alcohol and the sale was carried out by citizens of Vinnytsia region.
Information on the illegal sale of alcohol beverages was sent to the State Tax Service in Vinnytsia region to take appropriate measures to prevent illegal sale of excisable products.
As a part of criminal investigation of Main Directorate of the SFS in Vinnytsia region, searches were conducted at the addresses of households and garages, as a result of which equipment for bottling of the counterfeit alcoholic beverages and 5.5 thousand liters of ready-made products for 812 thousand UAH were found and seized.
