General fund of the state budget received 8.5 billion UAH of excise tax in June 2022

Taxpayers transferred 8.5 billion UAH of excise tax on produced and imported goods to the general fund of the State budget of Ukraine. This is 13.6% or 1 billion UAH more than in June last year and 14.9% or 1.1 billion UAH more than the indicative target.

Positive dynamics in the excise tax revenues were achieved in terms of the main types of excise goods, in particular, liquor-alcohol and tobacco products.

6.8 billion UAH was received in this year’s June from tobacco products produced and imported to the customs territory of Ukraine. This is 13.3% or 0.8 billion UAH more than in June last year and 14.9% or 0.9 billion UAH more than the indicative target.

Excise tax revenues in June 2022 from liquor-alcohol products produced and imported to the customs territory of Ukraine amounted to 0.7 billion UAH. This is 1.1% or 8 million UAH more than last year and 13.6% or 87 million UAH more than the indicative target.

Reminder! Legislative changes regarding the transfer to producers and importers of tobacco products, liquids used in electronic cigarettes of an obligation to pay the 5% excise tax rate on the retail sale of tobacco products entered into force on May 1, 2022.

285 million UAH of 5% excise tax rate were declared by producers and importers in June 2022 for the reporting period of May 2022. In addition, 248 million UAH of the 5% excise tax rate on the retail sale of tobacco products was declared by retail trade entities for the remaining unsold tobacco products produced before April 1, 2022.

In general, declaration of the 5% excise tax rate on the retail sale of tobacco products by producers, importers and retail trade entities in June 2022 for the reporting period of May 2022 amounted to 533 million UAH, which is 2.3 times more than the average monthly indicators of 2022 and 2 times of 2021.
