Ruslan Kravchenko: State Tax Service is interested in developing cooperation with Belgian Tax Service

Head of the State Tax Service of Ukraine Ruslan Kravchenko met with the Ambassador of Belgium to Ukraine Luc Jacobs. The main is deepening cooperation between the tax authorities of Ukraine and Belgium, as this opens up new opportunities for development. 

"Within the framework of multilateral agreements on automatic exchange, we already have cooperation results with the Federal Public Service Finance of Belgium (FPS Finance). We exchange information on financial accounts (CRS), and we also work within framework of the OECD initiatives (BEPS), which help combat shadow schemes" – stated Head of the State Tax Service.

As of today, more than 100 enterprises with Belgian capital operate in Ukraine. Amount of taxes paid by them was more than 720 million UAH last year. Despite the war, business with Belgian investments remains a reliable partner of Ukraine with a high compliance level.

"I suggested that the Ambassador hold a joint meeting with these enterprises to hear what they are going through, what problems they are facing, and to support investors in difficult conditions. Every working enterprise means jobs, taxes for defense, social payments, and financial stability of the country. And those who support us should receive proper support from Ukraine. We all are working for Victory!" – noted Ruslan Kravchenko.  

State Tax Service is also interested in developing cooperation with the Belgian Tax Service. First of all, we are talking about the following areas:  

- exchange of information to prevent tax abuse;

- implementation of the best European practices in tax administration;

- harmonization of national legislation with the EU.

"Belgium has strong experience in many areas. Therefore, joint work will allow us to implement the best European practices in work of the State Tax Service. I hope for assistance of the Ambassador in implementation of new joint projects between the tax institutions of our countries" – summed up Head of the State Tax Service.
