Two more tax officials were reported suspected of trading data from internal databases of the State Tax Service. They were exposed due to active interaction of the State Tax Service with the law enforcement agencies. This was informed by Head of the State Tax Service of Ukraine Ruslan Kravchenko in the Telegram channel.
He thanked the Kyiv city Prosecutor’s office, Department of counterintelligence protection of state interests in the information security of the Security Service of Ukraine and investigators of the Kyiv Police headquarters for exposing another illegal scheme.
"Two tax officers, having access to a closed database, systematically transferred confidential information about individuals and legal entities to the third participant in this scheme. He, in turn, sold it on a russian hacker forum. There they also looked for customers for the new orders. For information they received from 100 to 300 US dollars, payment was made exclusively in the cryptocurrency" – stated Ruslan Kravchenko.
According to him, all those involved have already been detained. Suspects will face up to six years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or involve in certain activities for a term of up to three years.
"Course for cleansing will only intensify. Anyone who wants to break the law must clearly understand that punishment is inevitable. We will act harshly. Because it is about reputation of the State Tax Service and the taxpayers’ trust towards us" – emphasized Ruslan Kravchenko.
