Counteraction against corruption: law enforcement officers detained one of the tax officials for taking a bribe of 200 thousand UAH

With the maximum assistance of the State Tax Service’s leadership, law enforcement officers detained one of the chief state inspectors of Main Directorate of the State Tax Service in Khmelnytskyi region while taking a bribe. This was informed by acting Head of the State Tax Service Lesya Karnaukh on the Facebook page. 

Tax official promised the entrepreneur to reduce amount of fines during the audit for 200 thousand UAH. For such a "reward", amount of fines was supposed to be reduced almost fourfold – from 1.1 million to 300 thousand UAH. 

The inspector was caught red-handed. He was informed of the suspicion. 

"I am grateful to the law enforcement officers for their coordinated work in exposing the crime and keeping counteraction against corruption. My principle is that we should consign such concepts as "resolve" and "agree" far into history. Trust of every taxpayer towards the State Tax Service is built on a constructive, transparent legal dialogue and, including, on the adequate response to corruption facts in the Tax Service" – added Lesya Karnaukh.
