Lesya Karnaukh: International companies have already paid 10.6 billion UAH of the "Google Tax" in 9 months

International non-resident companies that provide electronic services to individuals in the customs territory of Ukraine paid 10.6 billion UAH of the so-called “Google tax” in the first nine months of this year. This was informed by acting Head of the State Tax Service Lesya Karnaukh on the Facebook page. 

“We record positive dynamics compared to the corresponding period in 2024: number of registered payers increased by 13 people, amount of tax liabilities increased by 2.5 billion UAH” – she added. 

This year’s biggest payers: Apple, Google, Valve, Meta, Sony, Etsy, Netflix, Wargaming, Bolt, OpenAI, Ebay, etc.

In total, 141 VAT payers among the non-residents who provide electronic services to individuals have been registered in Ukraine as of January 1, 2022.

“Transparent working rules for everyone – both Ukrainian companies and global giants. This is what really changes tax culture, strengthens trust of every taxpayer and, accordingly, contributes to increasing revenues. Fair competition conditions are one of the main requests of business, especially in times of war. And our task is to ensure that Ukrainian business is not in worse conditions than global companies” – Lesya Karnaukh emphasized.  

Reminder! Obligation to register arises if the total amount of supplies exceeds 1 000 000 UAH during the last 12 months.
