In December 2019 – January 2020, specialists of the Main Directorate of the STS in Volyn region conducted 43 actual audits of business representatives that carry out activity in the turnover of excisable products. Such control measures resulted in 64 detected violations.
“STS specialists ensure constant monitoring upon the situation on the market of excisable products. Actual audits which are conducted without warning the entrepreneurs, allow identifying and seizing excisable products that are in illegal turnover. Particularly, 67 decisions on the application of financial sanctions totaling 4.7 million UAH and seizure of excisable goods in the amount of 0.1 million UAH from illicit turnover were made according to the results of audits conducted during 2 previous months” – stated acting Head of Main Directorate of the STS in Volyn region Oleh Hyrykovych.
“Exactly by means of conducting actual audits of business representatives and establishing facts regarding the sale of counterfeit products, tax specialists largely prevent the sale of counterfeit products and consumption of substandard products.” – stated in the Main Directorate of the STS in Volyn region.
For example, having checked the business representatives for compliance with the requirements of the law in the sphere of cash circulation and procedure of calculated operations, the tax specialists established 67 facts of not keeping accounting of inventory at the place of sale. Absence of documents on the origin of goods, particularly, alcohol beverages and tobacco products, may indicate their illegal origin.
Since the control measures of the Main Directorate of the State Tax Service in the region have the right to apply only to properly registered business entities, legal entities and entrepreneurs, it is necessary to inform the Tax service in writing form about the facts regarding the illegal sale of tobacco and alcohol products to citizens. Received requests are the basis for audits.
