Excise tax on the sale of excisable goods (alcohol beverages and tobacco products) by retailers is one of the budget-forming payments to the local communities. Number of 2 146 business entities, incl. 283 legal entities and 1863 individuals conduct the retail sale of alcohol and tobacco products in Mykolaiv region.
Main Directorate of the STS in Mykolaiv region reported that due to the effective work on quality administration of taxes, counteraction against the illegal turnover of excisable products, preventing entities from conducting unlicensed activities in the excisable goods market, it became possible to ensure 17 million UAH to the local treasuries from the sale of alcohol beverages and tobacco products in January 2020 – this is 2.7 million UAH or almost 19% more than in January 2019.
In addition, as a result of measures aimed at reducing the shady turnover of excisable goods, Main Directorate of the STS in Mykolaiv region conducted 18 audits of business entities which resulted in financial sanctions amounting 481.5 thousand UAH, of which 331.7 thousand UAH has already been transferred to the budget.
Funds from the excise tax payments to local budgets are sent to the territorial communities to support educational and medical institutions, repair roads, build sports and playgrounds and other social projects.
