Taxpayers of Rivne region transferred 14.6 million UAH of the environmental tax to the budget in January-February 2020 – this is 4.7 million UAH more than in the corresponding period of 2019. Out of the total, amount of 4.6 million UAH was credited to the special fund of local budgets. Remaining 9.9 million UAH was credited to the General Fund of the State Budget of Ukraine.
Main Directorate of the STS in Rivne region reported that the environmental tax must be paid by the taxpayers whose activities are related to the emission of pollutants into the atmosphere by stationary sources of environmental pollution, discharge of pollutants into the water bodies and pollution of water resources of Ukraine, placement of hazardous substances and wastes in specially designated areas or sites, generation and / or storage of radioactive wastes and temporary storage of radioactive wastes in specially designated areas.
Procedure for accrual and payment of the environmental tax is defined in Section VIII “Environmental tax” of the Tax Code of Ukraine.
